Callao, Peru · August 15, 2026
Project overview
A seafood exporter in Callao, Peru needed reliable deep-freeze storage to hold flash-frozen shrimp and scallops before container loading. The site had limited space and a hot, humid coastal climate — so energy efficiency and fast pull-down were both critical.
Solution
- Two walk-in freezer rooms, 30 m² each, holding at -22°C
- 150 mm PU insulated panels, density 42 kg/m³, B1 fire-rated
- Bitzer semi-hermetic condensing unit with hot-gas defrost
- Sliding doors with heater wires to prevent ice buildup at the threshold
- Smart control system with remote temperature monitoring and SMS alarm
Results
- Commissioned on-site in under two weeks of panel assembly
- Pull-down to -22°C in under 4 hours from ambient
- Energy consumption 18% lower than the client’s previous conventional unit
- Export throughput increased thanks to faster loading cycles
“The room hit temperature fast and has been rock-solid through our peak season. The remote monitoring gave our team real peace of mind.” — Plant Manager, Callao
