Cold room cost and purchasing guide · Argentina
A cold room price depends on the room, refrigeration duty and delivery boundary. This destination guide explains the local checks that can change the budget. There is no verified current nationwide price range in our evidence; request a written project quotation.
Build a project budget, not a national price
Destination checks before ordering
- Check the importer profile and customs payment workflow with ARCA. Ask the broker for the current NCM-based tax assessment and valuation date. [1]
- Check electrical equipment and machinery scope against Resolutions 16/2025 and 17/2025. Budget the documents required for the actual model. [2]
- Resolution 15/2024 governs controlled-substance licensing and amends specific domestic air-conditioner provisions. Do not extend those air-conditioner provisions to every cold room. [3]
Itemize the delivered and installed cost
| Budget item | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Panels, floor and doors | Specify internal or external dimensions, insulation, floor load, door openings and display glass doors. |
| Refrigeration and controls | Specify stored product, entry temperature, daily load, target temperature, ambient conditions and operating hours. Room volume alone does not size the equipment. |
| Freight and destination delivery | Request packing dimensions, gross weight, route, insurance, named Incoterm point, terminal charges, inland delivery and unloading responsibilities. |
| Import costs | Ask the importer or broker for a written classification, origin assessment, customs value and itemized duties, taxes, fees and applicable permits. |
| Installation and commissioning | Obtain a local site quote for civil work, electrical supply, piping, refrigerant charge, drainage, lifting, leak testing and start-up. |
| Operating and service costs | Compare electricity assumptions, defrost, spare parts and local service availability. No nationwide installation or energy tariff is assumed. |
Still needs project evidence: a current equipment quotation, route-specific freight, broker tax assessment, local installation quote and model-specific compliance confirmation.
Confirm the engineering interfaces
Confirm the actual site voltage, frequency and phases; do not order from a country-level voltage assumption. Provide an electrical drawing, equipment nameplates, refrigerant designation and charge, safety data and installation manual. Agree who checks local electrical, fire, structural and food-use requirements before production. A foreign certificate or CE mark alone does not settle local acceptance.
Documents and handover
Approve a versioned drawing and equipment list before production. Align the commercial invoice, packing list and transport document with the shipment; prepare origin and conformity documents where applicable. Record who handles clearance, unloading, installation, tests and acceptance. The schedule starts from confirmed drawings, site readiness and a booked route; no fixed national transit time is promised.
Official sources and scope
The links below identify the official verification routes. Their rules have different product and jurisdiction scopes. The importer must confirm applicability to the exact model, refrigerant, origin and entry date; this page does not declare a shipment cleared or a model certified.
